Inwood

This is where we currently have our very own Starbucks. Corner where Dyckman Broadway and Riverside intersect and has become the focal point of the neighborhood's transformation over the past five years. It wasn't  too long ago
that it was a clothing shop called "Freaky's" if I recall.  Anyway, it's just and example of how quickly this neighborhood is changing - especially along Dyckman en route to Tubby Hook and the Marina Cafe. There are two more restaurants scheduled to open along the strip so, if anyone thought that the area was saturated this should prove them wrong. For me the biggest issue is traffic - both parking and congestion which equals noise and pollution. I will refrain from commenting on the impossibility of finding a parking spot here on the weekend - I do not or try not to move my car on weekends - end of story. But when I walk out of my apartment on a Friday or Saturday night during the spring or summer I cannot believe the traffic.  There are traffic cops directing traffic, posted at the light and on Seaman.  Streets are closed down and but that does not stop anyone from circling the strip at least once.  Music is blaring and the party has begun. We have even merited a food truck- offering sliders, parked in front of Mohammed's candy store. As my uncle Zeke used to say - "It's a show, I tell ya, It's a show".
